He encourages his church family by saying, "No Bible- no breakfast."
I think I need to implement- No Bible- no breakfast; no Bible- no lunch; no Bible- no supper."
Also, Piper shared that he and his wife read this passage at their wedding. Good thoughts to ponder. . . are we there? I mean, really. . . put ourselves in that situation. . . are we there?
Habakkuk 3:17-19
17 Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls,18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.19 God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places.

Hope-ism
Hope came and told us that she went into Faith's room to tell her something, but Faith was watching tv so she was in her "own zone. . . mmm, ozone. . . . ozone layer?" She couldn't figure out what she was trying to say, so she just kept trying. . . it was cute.

Homeschool Fun
Questions for Mom
Faith- "Chris (our dog) poop in the potty?"
Mom- "No."
Faith- "He poop in the grass?"
Mom- "Yes."
Faith- "I fall in poop, I die?"
Mom- "No honey, you won't die. We'll just have to take a bath."
Mom- "No."

Kids' comments on Earthquake
Hope talking to Grandma about it-
"I knew it was an earthquake. I was shaking and couldn't keep my body straight. I didn't know that there were little earthquakes. I thought we were all going to die."
Faith screaming during it-
I CARED! I CARED! I CARED!
Faith, while waking up at 7 am the morning after it happened-
IT SAKES! IT SAKES! OUR HOUSE SAKES!
Poor little thing- it took her awhile to get over it.

I am a thief!
I steal from other blogs- and here I go again- but when you read this quote, you'll know why I had to snatch it!
How encouraging- what truth- I wanted to post it here so that I could read it daily!
Jim Elliot's journal:
I walked out to the hill just now. It is exalting, delicious, to stand embraced by the shadows of a friendly tree with the wind tugging at your coattail and the heavens hailing your heart, to gaze and glory and give oneself again to God--what more could a man ask? Oh, the fullness, pleasure, sheer excitement of knowing God on earth! I care not if I never raise my voice again for Him, if only I may love Him, please Him. Mayhap in mercy He shall give me a host of children that I may lead them through the vast star fields to explore His delicacies whose finger ends set them to burning. But if not, if only I may see Him, touch His garments, and smile into His eyes--ah then, not stars nor children shall matter, only Himself. O Jesus, Master and Center and End of all, how long before that Glory is thine which has so long waited Thee? Now there is no thought of Thee among men; then there shall be thought for nothing else. Now other men are praised; then none shall care for any other's merits. Hasten, hasten, Glory of Heaven, take Thy crown, subdue Thy Kingdom, enthrall Thy creatures." WOW!
Uh-oh- while cutting and pasting, I think I saw another good quote I might have to steal. . . just kidding, maybe.

One more picture
OK- since I love pictures- just thought I'd share one more- we've been trying to have two (educational)parties a month- one for Faith and one for Hope. At Faith's last party, we talked about springtime, bugs, etc. So- we made these nifty little snacks. However, look at the ingredients- do you think they ATE them? No way, Jose (sp?).
Pictures!
I love pictures but haven't taken any! aah! Not even Easter pictures (although I must admit that I'm a little puzzled as to why we get new dresses and take lots of pics on that particular day, hmmm) however, we were going to follow that tradition but I had a Sunday morning meltdown- so no pics. I thought I would try again to take pics last Sunday- another meltdown- not me, but Faith. SOO the best I can do is to share this silly picture of Faith who loves to climb into the washing machine. . . how she climbs up the smooth surface to get inside- I don't know. And what am I supposed to do with a two year old who can climb smooth surfaces??? OK, I know, I'm supposed to tell her. . . no. Maybe I'll try it next time.
Surgery
Other than the fabulous nurses, surgery is
horrible, yucky, stinky, miserable, and I hate it!
I know what you're thinking- of course it's all those things- what did you think- it was going to be a walk in the park? No, but still this is the first time that I've had to experience it and there you have it- I HATE IT!
However, I must say that I am thankful that the Lord gave me a tiny glimpse of what others who make frequent hospital visits must suffer. . .
As I have heard another person say, what happened to me today was just a minor inconvenience.
And for anyone and everyone on this earth, when God reveals His son to us through the Spirit- we know that Christ is enough!
